RollVT

Play video onto screens. With very little messing about.

RollVT is the playback tool we wanted on our own shows — simpler than the big media servers, more capable than a media player. A slightly-technical operator can make it work in seconds; an AV professional gets the depth a live event actually needs. Drop a clip in the bin and hit GO, or stack an ordered cue list and run the running order — to one screen, several screens, or out over the network.

What it does

  Bin + cue list

  A media bin to fire clips instantly, plus an optional ordered cue list with GO, follow-on cues and a show-lock so nothing gets fat-fingered mid-show.

  Multi-screen output

  Send to any number of external displays with per-output sizing, aspect and position — plus corner-pin warp to map onto an angled surface, and a rehearsal window when there's no second screen.

  Fades, dissolves & a panic key

  Master fade-to-black, hold-last-frame, cross-dissolve between cues, and a single panic-to-black — the live safety controls you reach for without thinking.

  NDI, capture & monitors

  Send and receive NDI, take in a live camera or capture card, burn lower-thirds, a logo bug or a countdown over the output, and feed a confidence monitor with the presenter's timer and what's next.

  Show control & Stream Deck

  Trigger and chase from OSC and Bitfocus Companion, MIDI / MSC, timecode (LTC / MTC) and Art-Net / sACN — and drive it from a native Stream Deck with a layout you arrange yourself.

  A backup that takes over

  Run a second Mac as a hot spare that mirrors the show and follows the transport, ready to take over the output if the main machine ever falters. The show goes on.

Basic or Pro.

RollVT comes in two editions from one app. Basic is dependable playback — the bin, the cue list, two screens, fades and a clean output. Pro unlocks the show-floor features: NDI, live capture, more than two screens, warp, dissolves, overlays, the confidence and countdown monitors, show control, Stream Deck and redundancy. A lapsed Pro subscription always falls back to a fully-working Basic — it never bricks a show.
